Are you ready? Here it comes … the SteakCamp !!!

Well we had the Joomla Camp (here and here) and then the WordCamp and if you ever had a chance to meet Raul (aka hummingbird604 ) he is planning to do a SteakCamp.

If you have been following Raul’s blog, you probably know that he writes reviews about Vancouver’s restaurants, and apparently he has accepted the challenge of writing a review for this little restaurant in East Vancouver called the Brave Bull which sells steak for 8.95 and according to the www.BuzzBishop.com blog “it’s serving food. And people are leaving the place alive.”

I’ve offered to make a few blog posts and create a facebook event for the SteakCamp so many of us could arrange to show up at the Brave Bull on Monday evening. You know when it gets to Food and Friends I am there, so bring in your cameras and appetite so we can have a joly good time together.

I would like to thank the following people who have helped us to spread the word and promote the Vancouver Joomla Day event which is happening this Saturday. You can follow their blogs during and after the event for more coverage and information.

Raul Pacheco (hummingbird604.com) on the right. Raul is an avid blogger with a great personality and sense of humour so don’t forget to drop by and say hello to him.  Raul has kindly accepted to liveblog the event for us, so follow his blog this Saturday.

Rebecca Bollwitt (Miss604) on the left. I’ve also contacted Miss604 to join us this saturday but unfortunately she won’t be available this weekend. We’re going to miss her, however she has been so kind to promote the Vancouver Joomla Day on her blog. Thank you Miss604!

Floating World is a Joomla Development and Hosting company located in Victoria BC. Aaron Handford from the Floating World is also one of the Presenters at the Vancouver JoomlaDay. His topic is “Using custom components to improve search engine ranking”. Aaron has recently joined the Tazzu community, we are looking forward to meeting him in person.

Floating World has a very interesting twist. They offer web hosting and their servers are powered by solar energy, now how is that for a change? This is Green hosting by definition.

January 19th 2008 Vancouver Joomla! DocCamp

Bruce Byfield is a long time Tazzu member and a contributing editor for the SourceForge sites Linux.com and the IT Manager’s Journal. Bruce is quite active in the Vancouver tech community, and we have had the plesure of meeing him in many previous JoomlaCamp, WordCamp, OpenWeb Conference, and Tazzu networking events. Bruce will be writing about the Vancouver Joomla Day event.
