Well, the Vancouver Joomla DocCamp was a huge success!
More than a dozen of us camped out at Network Hub for the day… and between the free-flowing Timmy’s coffee and delicious donuts - conversation wound its way around Social Networking, Open Source, Content Management Systems vs Blogs, and Drupal, Wordpress, and Joomla of course!
With free wireless access, a beautfully warm & dry place to hang our hats, an extension cord to plug our laptops into (slightly resembling an octopus afterwards), and an exciting new Joomla product, it couldn’t help but be a near perfect DocCamp - all that was missing was the campfire and marshmallows!

There is a saying that goes like this… “what you see is what you get”.
This is true if you don’t take the time to look closer at what you see. Today, as I begin taking a closer look at our next Tazzu spotlight member: fractal - I realize there is much more to him than meets the eye.
I was curious to see just when exactly fractal had joined Tazzu, so before writing this article I clicked on Tazzu’s membership list link. Did you know that fractal is officially Tazzu’s very first Charter Member? I admit I’m embarrassed because I didn’t really notice this before, I’m also greatly honored. We had so much fun at our last Tazzu Networking Event (Nov. ‘07) that we decided to once again hold it at Milestones (Yaletown) — only this time in the Lounge!

Joomla! DocCamp is an exciting community effort, where a number of Joomla Developers and writers will be getting together to write documentation for the new Joomla! 1.5 framework.
Joomla! Doc camp will be happening simultaneously in many cities around the globe. So far, Vancouver BC, Brussels, and Washington DC have indicated they will be involved in this great community event.
We will be collaborating and writing documentation for Joomla, and having fun in the process. There will be live Blogging, Flickring, posted YouTube videos, interviews with the participants, and possibly a live video stream so that our counter-parts around the world can join us (virtually) in the fun!
