Joomla! DocCamp is an exciting community effort, where a number of Joomla Developers and writers will be getting together to write documentation for the new Joomla! 1.5 framework.
Joomla! Doc camp will be happening simultaneously in many cities around the globe. So far, Vancouver BC, Brussels, and Washington DC have indicated they will be involved in this great community event.

We will be collaborating and writing documentation for Joomla, and having fun in the process. There will be live Blogging, Flickring, posted YouTube videos, interviews with the participants, and possibly a live video stream so that our counter-parts around the world can join us (virtually) in the fun!

If you’ve known Steve Bougerolle (SteveB in the Tazzu Forums) for any length of time you’ll know this of him: that he has a wealth of knowledge on many topics. Discussions with him are most often rich, and full of insight.
Frequently, you’ll find Bougerolle helping members with questions, shedding light in debates, or giving assistance with Moderating and important Administrative decisions for the Forum. As a Moderator and Charter member of Tazzu, his contributions have been invaluable.

I’ve known Liesa Billings (Liesa in the Tazzu Forums) for many years… since the 1900’s - when Karaoke was THE thing to do and line-dancing was becoming the latest craze… not that we ever got caught up in one or the other.
It was at that time that Liesa was making a name for herself as the ‘local chef to keep an eye on’. She started this journey by working in several trendy restaurants in and around Lonsdale, North Vancouver. At the age of 20 she landed a job at the award-winning restaurant “Beachside Café” as a line cook (pre-apprentice) where her passion in cooking grew.

A lot has been happening here at Tazzu in the last few weeks. Tazzu’s 1 year anniversary is coming up Sept. 01, and if you’ve been around since its inception, you know there has been a few changes since then!
New Branding and Marketing Strategy
Gone on a long journey is our green woolly monster, buh-bye! The new site colors and design reflect a more professional and smart style, which has been applied to each section of Tazzu, bringing greater consistency to the overall brand. Our logo (which I will blog about in more detail later) reflects the essence of Tazzu: Community, Intelligence, and Strength. We extend a great big thank you to Roberta Cottam (a current Tazzu member and Associate) for designing the logo to match our exact needs - you nailed it girl!

Well here we are again, kicking back at The Frog and Firkin - chasing away the summer heat! This months attendance was a grand slam ‘full house’. The fireplace room at the Firkin holds about 20 people, but we were hauling more chairs into the room so that we could all be seated.

Above: This is Vadim and myself posing for the camera - or at least I was! Vadim attends the Tazzu events on a regular basis, and is always up for great food and engaging conversation. In addition to being smart, he’s also very creative.

It was great to finally meet Fieran (above). He’s also known as emeraldconsulting in the forums, and has just recently moved back to the Greater Vancouver area. In the background is one of Bernie’s buddies - I never did have a chance to meet him, but any friend of Bernie’s is always a welcomed guest.

Above: Gary (Bluefur) and his sweet wife Lisa. They braved the crazy traffic from Surrey to Vancouer to join us - way cool! It is Gary’s company BlueFur which is generously sponsoring Tazzu by hosting our site. Thanks to Gary and the Gang at BlueFur for all your support!

At the age of 25, Steven Stark – known as sstark in the Tazzu Forums - is as ambitious as they get!
Stark’s interest in computers and the internet started when he was just a kid. As Steve puts it “I was navigating MS DOS before I could read, using sticky notes my mom made for me.
