One step closer: Anahita Social Engine™ Alpha 1

Today, Rastin and Ash announced that Anahita Social Engine™ version 1.0 Alpha 1 codename White Angelica has been released to the public.

This is GREAT news for the Tazzu Networking Community.

At the moment, our existing website (Tazzu version 1.5) is comprised of a Community Forum (which has been been temporarily closed) and Blog. We are are looking ahead with anticipation to the development of Tazzu 2.0 which will offer true social web functionalities and more enhanced collaboration & networking tools for the community members.

In a nutshell this wonderful announcement means that we are one step closer to the migration of Tazzu to the new platform – Anahita Social Engine™ – and regrouping our members, who at the moment stay connected via the Tazzu Blog, LinkedIn, facebook and twitter.

TAZZU’s 1st Networking event of the year!

With the Vancouver 2010 Olympics just behind us, now is a great time to get together again!

We will be holding our next Tazzu networking event once again in Historic Gastown.

“The Lamplighter Pub has been a fixture of Gastown since 1925, and provides a really cool historic flavor in to the 21st century!”

DATE: Thursday March 25th, 2010

TIME: 6:30pm

LOCATION: The Lamplighter Pub

Can you believe it is that time of year again?! Time seems to fly by faster with each passing year.

Rastin and I would like to wish all of our wonderful Tazzu friends a Happy Holiday, and a prosperous New Year!

Thank you for another year of your friendship and your support. 2010 certainly is going to be a very exciting year for us with the arrival of Anahita getting closer every day. Stay tuned, we’ll keep you posted.

PS: Let’s not forget about those less fortunate than us. Maybe drop off some food to the Food Bank, visit someone who is house-bound, or give a special donation to the Salvation Army.

It looks like we’re going to be able to sneak one more get-together in before the year is over, and to really change things up, its going to be being held in Richmond!

They have a huge free parking lot, and are only 1/2 block South of the Lansdowne Skytrain Station – so all Tazzu Vancouver peeps have no reason to not come out and join us! :)

Michael-James Pennie & Tweet to Remember

I first met Michael-James Pennie at a Tazzu networking even a few years back. I know him as a remarkable, upbeat and positive man.

I read for the first time today that his family has been coping with a debilitating disease which has afflicted his father, Jim, over the past several years… in 2003 he was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s disease.

Pennie writes: “Our personal lives have never been the same. I never wanted to burden those close to me with my challenges, although there was a nagging instinct inside of me that refused to go away. I had to do something. I became inspired to share my story. I became inspired to be proactive to help not only my father, but those other families affected. “
