Well here we are again, kicking back at The Frog and Firkin - chasing away the summer heat! This months attendance was a grand slam ‘full house’. The fireplace room at the Firkin holds about 20 people, but we were hauling more chairs into the room so that we could all be seated.
Above: This is Vadim and myself posing for the camera - or at least I was! Vadim attends the Tazzu events on a regular basis, and is always up for great food and engaging conversation. In addition to being smart, he’s also very creative.
It was great to finally meet Fieran (above). He’s also known as emeraldconsulting in the forums, and has just recently moved back to the Greater Vancouver area. In the background is one of Bernie’s buddies - I never did have a chance to meet him, but any friend of Bernie’s is always a welcomed guest.
Above: Gary (Bluefur) and his sweet wife Lisa. They braved the crazy traffic from Surrey to Vancouer to join us - way cool! It is Gary’s company BlueFur which is generously sponsoring Tazzu by hosting our site. Thanks to Gary and the Gang at BlueFur for all your support!
Above: John Chow (aka Moto) and his lovely wife Sarah. It was a nice suprise to see John and Sarah show up, as they have a little one at home. We had quite the laugh when John shared how he and Sarah came up with his daughters name. John explains… “the domain name Sally Chow dot com was available so that became her name”. Check it out www.sallychow.com - she’s got to be the youngest blogger on the web - taking after her father no doubt!
Above: And here he is, the wildest Tazzu member of them all! Just kidding Bernie - although you do know how to have a great time. It was really nice to see Bernie out at this event as he’d been unable to attend the previous event due to health reasons.
Above: Riel is one of our newest members. Riel is currently working on a XLsuite an open source ruby on rails based application. He is also an avid domaineer. Thanks for joining us Riel, we hope you enjoyed the evening.
Above: Steve has been with Tazzu as a member and Moderator since it’s inception. He is currently lead developer of Imperial Realms Media, a startup - developing an online game. He brings a wealth of humor, knowledge and wisdom to the forums.
Above: Lee (aka leedman) brings heart and soul to the group. You can read many insightful articles penned by Lee in our Oasis forum. After being out of the loop due to a bicycling accident, it was a relief to hear that he is healing slowly but surely.
Above: This is Jeremy aka infinity - one week before his wedding and looking as cool as a cucumber. By the time this is posted, Jer and Sarah will have tied the knot. Jer is Tazzu’s resident advice giver on internet law. He’s just finished law school and is hoping to start work mid August with one of the largest law firms in Canada. We wish you all the best Jer and Sarah!
Above: Bernie’s buddies! Two of them, who I didn’t get to meet. I did see them laughing at Bernie though - could it be they share Bernie’s same funny sense of humor? If this is the case - I’ve really missed out on a whole whack of laughs!
